Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 10, "Revelations: Chapter Two."
From season 2's ending. Tabitha's time in Camden, Maine brings more answers and questions, especially where the family of Victor Kavanaugh (Scott McCord) is concerned.
From season 3's ending provides the most answers, including the monsters' origins, what was growing inside of Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori), and what "Anghkooey" means. Some of these answers have created new questions, while other mysteries go back all the way to season 1.
10 What Happened To The Motel?
Henry Points Out This Mystery
What happened to From's motel is presented as a new mystery in season 3, episode 5, when Victor's father, Henry (Robert Joy), asks about it. Henry notices that there is a sign for a motel and there is a pool next to it, but that there is no motel. There has not been any motel in the Town since the series began, but this is the first time that a character has brought attention to it. This was partly done to remind audiences about the pool, which is where Dale (Cliff Saunders) ends up after going through the faraway tree.

"He's Not Broken": Jade Makes A Crucial Point About Victor Being From's Greatest Strength Against The Monsters
Jade gives some wise advice to Henry about Victor in From season 3, episode 9, highlighting an important aspect of Victor's unique history in town.
The motel mystery seems more important than merely serving as a reminder of the pool, though. The missing building may tie into important secrets about the Town's history that could ultimately prove useful for From's cast of characters. Whatever happened to the motel had to have happened many decades ago, possibly even before Victor arrived in the Town. A season 1 flashback shows him in the Town the night after a massacre, and the motel sign can be seen, but there is still no actual motel in sight.
9 What Are The Boy In White's Motivations?
He Is One Of The Town's Few Forces That May Not Be Evil
The Boy in White is deeply intertwined with the Town's history, but his ultimate motivations remain a mystery. He has been there at least since Victor was a child and Victor says that the Boy in White helped him survive over the years. He tells Victor when and where Tabitha will be in the caves in order to help her and helps guide Victor and Julie Matthews (Hannah Cheramy) to safety after the Colony House massacre. He also pushes Tabitha out of the lighthouse, which allows her to temporarily escape the Town and learn information vital to solving major From mysteries.
Tabitha sees the Boy in White in Camden, Maine, which suggests he has the power to leave the Town at will.
These actions, along with advising Victor to not chop down the faraway tree, seem helpful. However, he has appeared more sinister at other times, including when his advice sends Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) through a faraway tree, which takes Boyd to the dungeon where the Music Box Monster is unleashed. The Boy in White is seen smiling and laughing the morning Victor woke to everyone in the Town being massacred. From needs to reveal if the Boy in White is yet another evil force in the Town or if he has been genuinely trying to help the residents.
8 How Does The Man In The Yellow Suit Fit Into The Town's Mythology?
He Has Already Proven To Be A Powerful Villain
From season 3's ending introduces a new villain via the Man in the Yellow Suit (Douglas E. Hughes), who kills Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey), knows about the lullaby Jade (David Alpay) played, and is the voice who spoke to Jim on the radio at the end of season 1. The Man in the Yellow Suit may be the source of all evil in the Town. Fatima mentions that "it" offered immortality in exchange for sacrificing the children. "It" may be the Man in the Yellow Suit, which means he was the catalyst for the children's murders and the monsters' creation.
As terrifying as the monsters are, they are limited by their ability to only go outside during the daytime. That is not an issue for the Man in the Yellow Suit, whose first physical appearance is killing Jim during the day. If the Boy in White is actually trying to help the residents and is a benevolent force, the Man in the Yellow Suit may be the opposite, an evil force who intervenes to punish the residents when they learn truths that can help them. His powers, origins, and motivations need to be gradually revealed as the series continues.
7 Who Created The Talismans?
Boyd Found The Talismans, But Did Not Create Them
Boyd discovering the Talismans made life remarkably better for the Township's residents, but it remains unclear who created the Talismans in the first play. A season 1 flashback shows that Boyd stumbled into a cave in the forest where he found the Talismans and learned that they can prevent the monsters from entering an enclosed space. Boyd's discovery always seemed incredibly convenient and does not explain who carved the drawings into the Talismans or who imbued them with power.
It has been established that Julie cannot change what has happened, but since the Talismans' creator has not been revealed yet, it may be that she was always the one to create and leave the Talismans for Boyd to find.
From season 4 should answer this question that has existed since season 1. The Talismans may have been created by a past version of Tabitha or Jade in their attempts to stop the monsters and to save the children. Another possibility is that Julie created the Talismans and left them for Boyd to discover during her time travel. It has been established that Julie cannot change what has happened, but since the Talismans' creator has not been revealed yet, it may be that she was always the one to create and leave the Talismans for Boyd to find.
6 What Other Events Have Been Impacted By Julie's Time Travel?
A Future Version Of Julie Impacted The From Season 2 Premiere
Julie being a "story walker" explains who threw the rope to Boyd in the season 2 premiere. A future version of Julie is also present when Jim is killed by the Man in the Yellow Suit. Julie's time travel is only beginning, and it leaves the door open for her to have always impacted other pivotal events in the Town's history. Creating the Talismans and leaving them for Boyd to find seems like a strong possibility, especially since traveling into the past can give Julie the knowledge she needs to better understand how the monsters can be repelled.
Other unexplained mysteries may also be answered by Julie's time travel. Her actions may be just as embedded into the Town's history as the actions of Tabitha, Jade, and Victor have been. Most of the supernatural forces in the Town work against the residents or taunt them, including how they are taunted by the diner jukeboxes' songs. The residents could use the supernatural force of Julie's time travel to help them, although she will be limited by her inability to change the past.
5 How Will From's Residents React To Elgin's Betrayal And Torture?
There Is Plenty Of Blame To Go Around
Word travels fast in the Town, and it will not be long before the residents learn about Elgin's betrayal and how he was tortured. Elgin thought he was helping the residents, but he actually betrayed them by hiding Fatima and forcing her to give birth, which resulted in the rebirth of the Smiley monster (Jamie McGuire). However, the residents may be even more worried about Boyd taking a hammer to Elgin's hand and Sara gouging out Elgin's eye to get him to talk.
It will be intriguing to see if the residents are angrier at Elgin, Boyd, Sara, or if they will be too distracted by Jim's death and countless other problems.
Donna Raines (Elizabeth Saunders) tells Boyd in episode 8 that some of the residents have lost faith in him. When they learn of what Boyd did to Elgin, it may destroy the faith they still had left in him. Most of the residents have not forgiven or trusted Sara since her season 1 murders and have been waiting for an excuse to punish her. It will be intriguing to see if the residents are angrier at Elgin, Boyd, Sara, or if they will be too distracted by Jim's death and countless other problems.
4 What Happened To The Dead Bodies In The Root Cellar?
More Than One Corpse Has Been Seen There
When Elgin first goes into the root cellar in From season 3, episode 7, he discovers a dead body, and when he sees the Kimono Woman (Shuoxin Fu), asks her if this was where it really happened. The mystery of what the Kimono Woman wants from Elgin is answered by the end of season 3, as it becomes clear that it was always about manipulating Elgin into ensuring that Fatima gave birth to the reborn Smiley monster. However, the dead body was never factored into this explanation.

This mystery is complicated with it not being the first corpse From has shown in the root cellar's back room. Jade saw a different dead body there in season 1 that was crushed by a boulder. Now that Jade is confirmed to have lived many different lives in the Town, this was likely a memory from one of those lives. The larger mysteries surrounding Elgin, the Kimono Woman, and Jade have been solved, but the details about these various dead bodies remain unresolved threads that should be addressed.
3 What Was Making That Noise At The Settlement?
Jim, Kenny, Kristi, And Jade Heard It
When Jim and Kenny Liu (Ricky He) discover a settlement in the forest and stay in one of the huts overnight, they hear a loud knocking sound coming from outside. When Kenny, Jade, and Kristi Miller (Chloe Van Landschoot) stay overnight in one of the huts in a later episode, they hear the same noise. The noise sounds different from the monsters, and while it sounds menacing, it ultimately did not hurt any of the residents, as they remained safely inside the huts.

How Jade's Law Of Thermodynamics Theory Connects To From Season 3's Major Reincarnation Reveal
In the From season 3 finale, Jade presents a theory based on the first law of thermodynamics, which ends up explaining the reincarnation plot twist.
This is a mystery that is unlikely to be explained by Julie's time travel, as whatever is making the noise sounds too big to be caused by a single person. Since this noise has only been heard at the settlement, it seems to be tied to that specific location. Both Tabitha and Jade have had visions at the settlement that now appear to have been memories from their past lives in the Town. Their memories may hold the answers to the ominous sound heard there.
2 How Can Randall Get The Cicada Sounds To Stop?
He Has Reached His Breaking Point
Boyd destroying the music box has not stopped Randall (A.J. Simmons) from hearing and seeing cicada hallucinations. This leads to the breaking point of Randall using a defibrillator on himself. Since his arrival, Randall has struggled more than many residents to adapt. He is nearly killed by the Music Box Monster in season 2 and nearly dies again when left to monsters in season 3, episode 4, but the series has made a point of keeping him alive.
In his last scene with Jim, Randall made it clear that he had given up, and the scene with the defibrillator makes this even clearer. There is a reason that the series has decided to keep Randall alive when there have been multiple opportunities to easily write him out of the story. In order to fulfill that larger purpose, he first needs to stop hearing and seeing the cicadas, which requires a solution that may require him to return to the dungeon as Julie did after they stumbled across it in episode 7.
1 How Can The Children Be Saved And Set Free?
This May Be The One Way The Residents Can Still Win
From the monsters' origins to how Tabitha and Jade are connected to Miranda (Sarah Booth) and Christopher, many of the season 3 finale's reveals hinge on the children's tragic fates. Since the monsters cannot be permanently killed, and all the different versions of Tabitha and Jade have been trying to save the children and set them free, rescuing the children seems like it may be the answer to escaping the Town for good. According to the Boy in White, part of this solution involves going through the faraway bottle tree.
From season 4 was renewed on November 21, 2024.
Tabitha going through the faraway tree alone did not save the children and a past version of Jade, Christopher, refused to go through the tree years ago. Perhaps Tabitha and Jade need to go through the tree together as a major step toward saving the children. Since rescuing the children is seemingly tied to the show's endgame, the full answer probably will not come to light in From season 4, but the new season can at least provide significant insight into this mystery.

From is a series revolving around a mysterious American town that ensnares newcomers, forcing its inhabitants to maintain order and find an escape amidst nighttime perils from the surrounding forest. The residents face threats from terrifying creatures emerging after sunset, complicating their struggle for survival.
