17 years after Ahsoka Tano's debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it's become clear that Omega in Star Wars: The Bad Batchhas taken a very similar journey to Ahsoka's own. With no new live-action or animated TV shows on the docket, Star Warshas been playing their cards close to their chest, though one announcement for this year's Star Wars Celebration has me convinced about what their next episodic endeavor will be focused on. Following the conclusion of Star Wars: The Bad Batch in 2024, the franchise no longer has an ongoing animated series. Even in live-action, we're only getting continuations of Andor and Ahsoka with season 2, respectively.

It's been 4 years since Star Warsdropped a major reveal about two key characters in Star Wars: The Bad Batch, introducing a duo that's quite literally a perfect modern replacement for Luke and Leia. Of course, when it comes to the term "replacement," it's not a matter of actually replacing those iconic characters themselves; it's instead an effort by Star Wars to give viewers something familiar while also giving them something fresh. In this case, it's a replacement for the Luke and Leia archetype, and there are layers to this particular duo that enhance it even more.

In 2024, the story of Clone Force 99 in Star Wars: The Bad Batchofficially came to an end, but I think I've found a new way for the next chapter of their story to continue on in the future of Star Wars. After being introduced in the first four episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7, the Bad Batch quickly became a fan-favorite group of clone troopers, especially as their story expanded in The Bad Batch. Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Echo remain popular characters well after their series' conclusion, as does one other: Omega.

Created for the animated Star Wars: The Bad Batchseries, Omegahas since become one of Star Wars' best characters - and its most unique clone. Omega has taken quite the journey, both in her actual story and amongst Star Wars audiences. Though she's always had the bravery, heart, and courage of a soldier, just like her brothers, Omega was still a child at the start of it all. In The Bad Batch, she goes from needing rescue to rescuing herself and others, easily becoming one of Clone Force 99's strongest and loyalest .

A significant number of animated Star Wars characters have recently made the jump to live-action. However, there are plenty more galactic heroes and villains I would love to see so the same. Because the established Star Wars canon spans multiple mediums and formats, it's hopefully only a matter of time.

This stunning Star Wars: The Bad Batch-inspired art provides a glimpse of Omega’s future as a pilot for the Rebel Alliance. In The Bad Batch’s emotional season 3 finale, Omega and Hunter reunited on screen one last time in an epilogue that jumped a few years into the future. Hunter and the other of Clone Force 99 had lived a well-deserved and peaceful life on Pabu, but Omega wasn’t done with the galaxy just yet. Instead, she flew off to become a pilot for the Rebellion, continuing her and her brothers’ fight against the Empire.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 has wrapped up the story of Clone Force 99, leaving a lot of questions remaining, particularly about Omega and her age. Omega was first introduced in The Bad Batch series premiere but quickly became a beloved if not inexperienced member of Clone Force 99. Throughout The Bad Batch’s three seasons, audiences have seen Omega grow physically, but also as a member of Clone Force 99 and a soldier.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch just finished its final season, and despite the happy ending provided to Omega and the rest of Clone Force 99, Lucasfilm has left the door open for their return. The end of The Bad Batch season 3 revealed that Omega grew up peacefully on Pabu under the loving care of Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair, ultimately leaving to the Rebel Alliance as a pilot. This fits perfectly with her character, as she had begun training as a pilot with Tech in The Bad Batch season 2.
