For the most part, Monster Hunter Wildshas delivered on almost everything it has promised, with the best visuals in the series, an open world packed to the brim with detail, some of the best combat in gaming, at least in my opinion, and plenty of monsters. There are a lot of firsts when it comes to MH Wilds, and that naturally means features from other games have to be dropped to make room. While combat is some of the most fun it has ever been in a Monster Hunter game thanks to Focus Mode, tracking is non-existent. 4z363n

Hunts in Monster Hunter Wildsoften don't take as long as hunts did in MH World. Although they still last longer than in Rise, it's easy to assume that monsters in Wilds have less health than in World, but this isn't the case. Monsters in Wilds actually have more health than their MH World counterparts to balance out the new mechanics. It seems, however, that monsters might not have been given enough health to make the hunts last as long as they did before.

With all the recent material released for Monster Hunter Wilds, it looks as though the game will take the series forward similarly to how MH World did back in 2018 - especially when it comes to the Handler. Just visually, the game is already a massive step-up, but the title also benefits from bigger environments, greater ecological elements, and a myriad of new monsters to hunt. There are some elements that players could take or leave, such as Palicoes and the player character being voice acted, but it is clear that there are going to be a lot of changes.

DLC has somewhat of a bad reputation with all the microtransactions in the world, but some DLC and expansions like God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla or Monster Hunter: Iceborne buck the trend by being bigger and better than some full-priced games. Of course, many expansions benefit from having brilliant base games to build upon, offering players more of what they love. There is some controversy about the price of some expansions of late, but the best earn their price.

One of the many materials players can find and use in Monster Hunter World is Monster Toughbone. It is a slightly rarer material due to the rank players need to be to obtain it. Players who earn it can use it for various crafting recipes, including weapons and armor. This will give them an edge in future fights when they have better gear to take on tougher monsters within the game.

Nourishing Extract is a material in Monster Hunter Worldthat can be used to create some of the most helpful consumable items for a hunt. These include Ancient Potions, Mega Demondrugs, and Mega Armorskins. Nourishing Extract drops from only three monsters and can be gained from quest rewards. However, the acquisition rates are fairly low and no guaranteed method exists. Fortunately, Hunters who have progressed far enough will have an alternative means of obtaining these consumables.

The PlayStation Plus Collection of games will be leaving the subscription service in just a few months, and there are 10 titles players should make sure they before it's too late. This selection of PS4 games has been available for PS5 owners who subscribe to the PS Plus service as a showcase of the last generation console's best offerings, many of which could be played with increased performance on the newer device. While players will still have access to the other monthly game offerings that come with the subscription, the PS Plus Collection will disappear on May 9.

EA Originals' new recently-announced IP, Wild Hearts, almost looks like it could be a clone of the popular Monster Hunter series, but there are ways that it can prove its originality. There are some undeniable similarities between the two, including Wild Hearts' giant monsters that wouldn't look out of place in Monster Hunter, as well as unusual weapons to fight them with. Wild Hearts is currently set to release on February 13, 2023, and hopefully more details that showcase how it's different from Monster Hunter will come before then.

Yennefer of Vengerberg and Triss Merigold from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have ed Monster Hunter World on PC, thanks to a character swap mod. Of course, this does not mark the first time that the World of the Witcher has crossed paths with Capcom's hit franchise. Geralt guest starred in Monster Hunter World via a crossover event that hit consoles in February 2019, then migrated to PC that May. The collaboration between Capcom and CD Projekt Red added Geralt, Witcher-themed items, resources to craft the White Wolf's armor and weapon sets, and much more.

Monster Hunter: World is one of the most popular entries in the franchise, and its PC version has access to a variety of mods that can be installed. Monster Hunter: World introduced thousands of players to the Monster Hunter series, and it continues to be played by thousands of fans today. With the ability to access mods, Monster Hunter: World can be made to feel fresh and lively, even in 2022.
