Joe and Transformers have never been more connected thanks to the Energon Universe, and now Cobra Commander’s latest weapon continues that trend. Bringing together Cybertronian technology with a classic piece of G.I. Joe lore, the ultimate enemy of the Real American Heroes has devised a weapon that could give him control of everything.

Ever since the new era of G.I. Joebegan, fans have been wondering when Snake Eyes will the Energon Universe. While there’s still no sign of the fan-favorite silent ninja, the G.I. Joe creators have at least shot down one popular theory about Snake Eyes floating around the internet.

Few comic book characters embody the quintessential villain better than G.I. Joe's Cobra Commander, but his backstory doesn't exactly live up to his character's capacity for evil. With his over-the-top personality, quickness to blame underlings for his failures, undying hatred of G.I. Joe, and willingness to throw anyone under the bus to gain an advantage, Cobra Commander deserves a stronger origin.

Joeis one of the franchise’s greatest achievements, and new publisher Skybound will be celebrating the iconic adventure with a series of one-shots from all-star creative teams. Titled G.I. Joe: Silent Missions, each of the five one-shots will be released weekly in April, starting with a special reprint of the classic issue that inspired it all.
