Bryan Singer’s 2008 film Valkyrie examines the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, but, unfortunately, the plot failed. The true story of Operation Valkyrie is, oddly enough, not one of the wider known elements of World War II. In fact, the plot – which was conceived of by of the German army and civilians - seems fantastical on so many levels that it was well suited for a Hollywood adaptation starring Tom Cruise as one of the key conspirators, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg. Had the plot succeeded, the war would have certainly taken on a completely different trajectory and saved countless numbers of lives.

Given that, in many historical dramas, actors will often manufacture accents in order to better fit in with a film's aesthetic, Valkyrie stands out for its broad range of accents from a variety of performers.
