After Dexter seemingly dies at the end of Dexter: New Blood, he is set to return in some capacity in the sequel series Dexter: Resurrection. The sequel series will pick up where New Blood left off, meaning that several characters from the original and revival series can appear in it. Dexter: Resurrection will be developed by New Blood and Original Sin showrunner Clyde Phillips, who announced the sequel series at the "Dexter: Original Sin" at SDCC 2024. He also revealed that Michael C. Hall will be returning as the voiceover narrator as Dexter's "Dark enger" in the highly-anticipated Dexter prequel series, which will premiere in December 2024.
