Two of the biggest names in horror are meeting up to stop the apocalypse in appearing in other genres such as film noir and acting as Egghead on the Adam West Batman TV show from the 60s. This will be the first time the two meet in comic books.

The public figures of Vincent Price and Elvira have appeared in comic books individually before, though DC Comics series Elvira's House of Mystery, a spin-off from their House of Mystery series. Most of the Vincent Price-related comics were published by Bluewater Productions under the name Vincent Price Presents.

There will be four covers for the first issue of Elvira Meets Vincent Price, which are all pictured above. The artists featured include Dave Acosta (Elvira Mistress of the Dark, DRAGON) on the main Cover A, interior artist Samu on Cover B, a pin-up Cover C by John Royle (Spectacular Spider-Man Adventure, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero), and a photo of Elvira herself as Cover E. Avallone shared his excitement in Dynamite's press release, saying: "Writing Vincent Price is a gift. On-screen and off, he’s an indelible character and it’s delightful to write in his 'voice,' just as it is to write in Elvira’s. He’s charming and elegant and hilarious… and as in real life, a perfect foil for Elvira. I recommend fans Googling their talk show appearances together."

It will certainly be a gift to see the widely-considered most iconic horror movie actor and greatest horror host of all-time teaming up in comic book fashion. This team-up certainly makes more sense than when Price palled around with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang, but will this crossover be just as fun as that was? Find out when the first issue of Elvira Meets Vincent Price hits comic book stores on August 4, 2021.
